How Does Scheriproct Ointment Work? Scheriproct Ointment is a dual-action steroid drug. The ointment contains two active ingredients, prednisolone, and cinchocaine. Prednisolone is a Corticosteroid, which relieves pain and inflammation. It works by reducing the chemical action within the bodys cells that cause the skin to become red, itchy, and swollen. Cinchocaine is a local anesthetic that reduces pain and irritation caused by hemorrhoids. It works by blocking pain signals from reaching the brain. This produces a numbing effect on the area where Scheriproct ointment is applied.

Scheriproct Ointment Warnings Do not use Scheriproct Ointment if you currently have a viral, bacterial, or fungal infection for which you are not currently receiving treatment. If you are on medication, consult your doctor before using Scheriproct Ointment for information on medical interactions.

Directions for Using Scheriproct Ointment Only apply the ointment on your back passage and the surrounding painful areas. Apply this medicine twice a day to the affected areas. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after use. You need to gently wash and dry your anus and surrounding skin before applying the cream. If you are using the applicator to treat internal hemorrhoids, you will need to clean it with warm water, a paper towel, and a cotton bud after each use.
